The Karaoke Deth Machine is a silvery podium that makes really weird noises. It is accompanied by an effects steeped microphone that lets participants explore creating their own weird sounds.
The Karaoke Deth Machine is an experiment in spontaneous sound, created and affected by the surrounding elements, including the participants themselves. A boombox is secured tightly in a podium that resonates with feedback caused by minimalistic music and noise and a strategically placed microphone. But wait! It can also be sung into like any other karaoke machine. Or maybe it can be manipulated to make noise in some other way. The participant truly determines what the Karaoke Deth Machine is and how it interacts with the surrounding environment.
The Karaoke Deth Machine debuted at Burning Man and has since made appearances at BurnOut, Seacompression, Dustcovery, Seaside and any various other public gatherings. It has received art grants from Ignition Northwest and GVIAS for transportation and improvements.
